I never realized how much of a difference combing my brow hairs up and out made on my appearance. I look more put together, awake, and more youthful with lifted, groomed brows. However, it’s never worth the flakey, crusty appearance that most clear brow gels impart after a few hours of wear. Kulfi Beauty’s Free the Brow brow gel ($26) truly changed the brow game for me.

I was already a big fan of the brand’s creamy Main Match concealer, long-lasting Underlined Kajal Eyeliner, and pigmented Mehndi Moment Cream Blush, so I had high hopes for this brow gel as well. The Kulfi Free the Brow brow gel not only promises long-lasting hold, but also has a formula that conditions your brow hairs. Plus, it has built-in brow shaping and defining tools, so you can create your ideal brow with one product. Keep reading to see my in-depth review of Kulfi’s Free the Brow brow gel and what this versatile brow product can do.

About the Kulfi Free the Brow Brow Gel

  • The brow gel is clear, and formulated with conditioning ingredients like safflower oil, sunflower oil, and Roselle Hibiscus Sabdariffa.
  • It has a spoolie applicator and a two-in-one tool with a fluffing brush and a defining comb.
  • It’s supposed to deliver a laminated effect for fuller and defined brows.
  • It’s cruelty-free, vegan, and clean at Sephora.

What I Like About the Kulfi Free the Brow Brow Gel

As someone with thick, defined eyebrows, I notice that my brow hairs tend to curl downward. Kulfi’s brow gel keeps each hair in place and provides me with that long-lasting uplifted look I needed. The formula contains nourishing ingredients like safflower oil, sunflower oil, and roselle hibiscus sabdariffa. Its texture feels weightless but it’s also conditioning like a brow serum. It doesn’t settle into a rock-hard, crunchy, hair spray-like feel, but rather it’s flexible and still delivers hold. My brows stay put from the beginning of my day to when I do my nighttime routine without falling or flaking.

Although the formula is quite impressive, the three-in-one grooming tool stole the show for me. The brow gel comes with a spoolie applicator plus a curved comb and dense flat brush to help shape, sculpt, and define your brows. I only use Free the Brow when I’m traveling because of this all-in-one tool, and it helps streamline my getting-ready routine more than I thought it would. It’s so convenient to have all these tools in one product, especially if you’re rushing out the door. The other benefit of having three tools in one product? You’re equipped with everything you need to create all sorts of brow looks, whether it’s a feathery boy brow, a sculpted, defined arch, or a mix of both.

How to Use the Kulfi Free the Brow Brow Gel

Using the Kulfi Free the Brow Brow Gel

Kulfi’s Free the Brow brow gel is pretty easy to use and can deliver a range of results depending on the tools you use. Personally, I like to have a more shaped look to my brow, so I apply the brow gel with the spoolie applicator in the direction of hair growth. I brush my brows up and out as I’m applying the gel. Then, I use the fluffing brush to add volume to the inner parts of my brows and use the comb to shape my brow hairs into place, following my natural arch.

For a more laminated effect, the brand suggests applying the brow gel in the opposite direction of hair growth. Use the comb end to separate the brow hairs, and then press down using the brush end to flatten the brows for that feathery look. If you prefer a more shaped look like I do, the brand suggests using the comb brush up through the arch and down the tail to sculpt and shape your brows to your liking.

You can fill in the sparse areas of your brows before or after using the brow gel. I like to fill in my brows with a pencil before applying the brow gel, then touch up with hair-like strokes after applying the gel in sparse areas for a more natural, blended look.

What to Consider Before Trying the Kulfi Free the Brow Brow Gel

Although I didn’t face any issues with the brow gel’s hold power, a few of the customer reviews noted that if you have coarse brow hairs, this might not be able to deliver the long-lasting results you are looking for.

Where is the Kulfi Free the Brow Brow Gel Available?
