As a certified beauty product collector (some may say hoarder, but I digress), I make it a point to try the latest and greatest products that hit the market. Whether it’s a new blush that I can’t stop raving about or a new lipstick shade that gets added to the ranks with the hundreds of others that I own, I pride myself in being a beauty encyclopedia for my friends and family.
With that being said, sometimes there are products that sound too good to be true. That’s exactly the case with One/Size Beauty’s new Oil Sucker Extreme Mattifying Alkaline Primer ($34). The brand claims that the product will not only absorb any shine on your face but also provide an extreme matte finish while tightening the appearance of pores. One of the best primers that I’ve ever used for my oily skin was from the now-discontinued brand Becca Cosmetics, so, of course, I was curious if this one would replace the hole its departure left in my heart. Keep reading to see if the prime is worth investing in from someone with combination-to-oily skin.
About the One/Size Beauty Oil Sucking Primer
- The product comes in plastic, squeeze-tube packaging.
- The primer has a lightweight, runny consistency and dries to a matte finish.
- Standout ingredients include alkaline pH, which helps to keep excess oil, and micro-hyaluronic acid to keep the skin from drying out.
What I Like About the One Size Beauty Oil Sucking Primer
This primer feels lightweight on the skin, but it isn’t watery, which I appreciate. It also doesn’t cause any irritation on my combo skin. The packaging is simple to use, allowing me to dispense the perfect amount. It dries down to a completely matte finish and almost feels a little chalky (but doesn’t look ashy, which is the best part), so it layers under my foundation and concealer perfectly.
How to Use the One/Size Beauty Oil Sucking Primer
The packaging of the primer comes with a targeted plastic tip, which makes it easy to apply the product directly onto the face and blend it out, which is how I use it. After I spread it to the areas that needed it the most (like around the center of my face), the instructions stated that I was supposed to sit expressionless for three minutes while it dried, presumably to let the primer fully set on the skin. After that waiting period, I continue with the rest of my makeup routine.
What to Consider Before Buying the One/Size Beauty Oil Sucking Primer
While it does an incredible job at mattifying oily areas, I wouldn’t recommend using it on a full face. This is because the tube is small and you’ll run out of it very quickly. It is extremely mattifying, so it’s best for using on targeted areas where you get the most oily, like the nose, forehead, and chin.
Where Is the One/Size Beauty Oil Sucking Primer Available?
