Jack White Says He’s Suing Trump Campaign Over Seven Nation Army Clip

“Don’t even think about using my music you fascists,” rocker writes after Trump aide uses White Stripes classic in a Twitter video

Here we go again: Jack White is promising to sue the Donald Trump campaign after a Trump aide used a White Stripes song in a video of the former president posted on social media.

Just a week after a similar incident involving a Beyonce song and a Trump aide‘s video, in an apparently since-deleted tweet Thursday, Trump Deputy Director of Communications Margo Martin shared a video of Trump boarding a plane to campaign events, with the White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” soundtracking the 10-second clip.

Martin’s video was viewed about 65,000 times before White somehow became aware of it — which is surprising, considering he quit Twitter in November 2022 when Trump’s ban was lifted — and screen-captured the clip; White then shared the video on his own Instagram account with a caption where he didn’t mince words.

“Oh….Don’t even think about using my music you fascists,” White wrote. “Lawsuit coming from my lawyers about this (to add to your 5 thousand others.) Have a great day at work today Margo Martin.”

Perhaps fearing yet another cease-and-desist and lawsuit from yet another artist whose music the campaign used without permission, Martin had deleted the tweet at press time.

However, White continued to rip into Trump, noting the confrontation his team had while turning Arlington National Cemetery into an unauthorized photo op. “A double fuck you DonOLD for insulting our nation’s veterans at Arlington you scum,” White added. “You should lose every military family’s vote immediately from that if ANYTHING makes sense anymore.”

White’s post came just hours after ABBA joined the dozens of artists to publicly denounce Trump and his campaign for using their music without permission.
