The last time I found myself interested in a lip kit, it was 2017 and I was obsessed with Kylie Jenner. To be honest, I never thought I’d be into lip kits again (I’ve since learned that matte makeup products are just not my thing), but recently, I haven’t been able to avoid the Glamlite Strawberry Shortcake Berry Sweet Lip Kit ($20) all over my TikTok For You Page. I’ve been swayed by quite a few different TikTok products in the past, but lately, I haven’t really found anything that’s tickled my fancy — especially in the makeup department.
However, I kept seeing this lip kit over and over again in videos, and the comments grabbed my attention. Users were saying that the lip liner stayed on all day, that the gloss didn’t feel sticky, and that it even had a yummy strawberry scent. Plus, it kept selling out. Like, over and over again. After I saw the hundredth video on TikTok singing its praises, I decided to grab one for myself and see what all the hype was about.

What I Like About the Glamlite Strawberry Shortcake Berry Sweet Lip Kit
The first thing I noticed when testing out the lip liner was that the color was a lot more intense than what I typically wear. I’m more of a no-makeup makeup girl, and I prefer shades that are similar to the color of my natural lips. However, this was a situation where I needed to trust the process. The lip liner was extremely creamy in the best way. It glided across my lips easily, and it was super simple to blend, which made the color a lot less intense.
The lipstick didn’t feather or make my mouth feel dry. It has a satin finish, which looked really good with my overall complexion. Once I added the gloss, I was pretty much sold on the lip kit as a whole — it wasn’t too sticky and it lasted for hours on end. (Even through a light makeout session.)
Although I was a little skeptical about the color at first, I actually found that it suited my features really well, and it’s easily become one of my go-to lip combos.
How to Use the Glamlite Strawberry Shortcake Berry Sweet Lip Kit
The brand doesn’t have any specific instructions for how you should use the three products, but I have a routine that I like to stick to. I always start off by prepping my lips, which involves exfoliating them, followed by a lip mask and some Aquaphor to top it all off. I let my lips soak up the hydration while I do the rest of my makeup. Once I’m finished with everything else, I wipe off my lips with a damp paper towel, and then I start coloring them.
I like to start with the lip liner, and I always make sure to heavily accentuate my Cupid’s bow. I buff out the liner using my finger, moving from the outer line of my lip inward. From there, I go in with the lipstick — but I don’t like to use too much. I dab a bit on the center of my bottom and upper lip, but that’s pretty much it. Then, I go over everything with the lip gloss. Once I’m finished, I like to take a concealer brush and clean up any excess product that migrated outside of my natural lip line since I’m not a huge fan of overlining my lips.
What to Consider Before Trying the Glamlite Strawberry Shortcake Berry Sweet Lip Kit
Although this lip kit is only sold in one shade, the products have distinct tones, so I’d take a close peek at the shades in my photos before purchasing. The lip liner is a warm brown with a berry undertone, while the lipstick is a strawberry nude. The strawberry jelly lip gloss is a sheer reddish-pink tone.
