Lili Reinhart isn’t the first celebrity to launch a skin-care brand. In fact, there’s a long list of celebrities that come before her. However, if you’re at all familiar with the “Riverdale” actor, you know that she’s not just slapping her name on some products and calling it a day. Her new brand, Personal Day, aims to bring more awareness to acne and how it intersects with mental health.
Reinhart has extensively documented her journey with acne on her social media accounts, and she’s opened up about her skin in numerous interviews. “I’ve struggled with my skin ever since I was 13 and I had my first big breakout on my forehead,” Reinhart previously told PS. “I still have cystic acne, so I know there will be times where I break out before a big event. I want to show my fans, and also myself, that’s OK. To hide that would feel very inauthentic.”
The brand, which is centered around nurturing acne-prone skin, officially launched on Oct. 28 with five products. There’s the Full Clarity Cleansing Powder ($24), the Doing the Work Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment ($36), the Deep Dive Mevalonic Moisturizer ($38), as well as the Even Keel Resurfacing Peel ($34) and the Everybody Stay Calm Recovery Mask ($32). All of the products are vegan, cruelty-free, and noncomedogenic.
Three PS editors with different skin types opted to test out the Recovery Mask, which promises to soothe irritated skin, calm inflammation, and reduce redness, as well as dryness. The key ingredients include zinc hyaluronate, azelaic acid, chlorophyll, and mevalonic acid, which is an ingredient exclusive to Personal Day. Keep scrolling to learn how it worked for each of them.
