The 2024 Paris Olympics are well underway, and athletes from all over the world are showing their pride in various ways. We’ve spent countless hours drooling over the Olympic-themed manicures, but some athletes have been showcasing their pride in more permanent ways. One of the most common we’ve seen as of late? With Olympic rings tattoos. Peeking out from all matters of uniforms, the design is a marking of countless hours of hard work in each athletes’ respective sport.
The five interconnected rings, which are depicted in colors of blue, black, red, yellow, and green, are inked across athletes in a variety of styles. Some tattoos feature all-black ink, like Team USA gymnast Sunisa Lee’s, while others portray the colors in the classic form. Many of the Olympians have ink to represent their last win, like at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. This includes Team USA gymnast Simone Biles, who got her first tattoo in 2017 after dominating the games.
We’ve seen the rings pop up on all areas of the body, including the legs, wrists, arms, and even the feet. There are large versions that take up entire areas, and much smaller versions as well. Keep scrolling to take a closer look at all of the Olympic tattoos that have popped up in the games so far.
