When Big Sean shoots his shot, what’s the best that can happen?
On Friday, the rap star released the video for his confidence-boosting single “Precision,” which hears him rap about locking a target and never missing over Three 6 Mafia’s classic “Poppin’ My Collar.”
The Onda-directed video sees the star in different scenarios: getting his measurements taken by a sexy tailor, walking on a treadmill and meditating in front of a green screen, and shooting hoops in a cartoonish setting.
“Shootin’ my shot like, pew-pew, ayy/Hit the red dot like, pew-pew, ayy,” he raps in the catchy chorus. “Finger on the trigger like, pew-pew-pew-pew.”
The end of the video reveals him walking out of test facility alongside a gorgeous woman who’s actually a drone. Was the Sean’s confidence all machine-made?
Before releasing “Precision” and new music, Sean released a five-minute vlog over the weekend where he “established clarity” for himself and described how he tried to center himself before the new era.
“When you take the time to put your attention on your intention, that’s the quickest way to get to where you desire to be at. Clarity is the bridge to that. I’m just speaking from experience,” he says in the video over clips of him in the studio and with friends, including Tyler, the Creator.
“I think your superpower is rapping but like on a different level,” Tyler tells him in the video. “And then it’s also your biggest flaw.”
“Precision” marks Sean’s first solo release since 2022’s Detroit 2 deluxe edition, which included additional tracks “Overtime” and “Single Again.” He also joined Larry June and The Alchemist on “Palisades, CA” last March, and dropped EP What You Expect with Hit-Boy in 2021.
