On November 10, Michelle Yeoh attended the “Wicked” movie premiere in Los Angeles, and to be completely honest, we almost didn’t recognize her. The star, who plays Madame Morrible in the film, popped up on the red carpet with a completely new look — a syrup blond bob. Bob haircuts are still having a major moment, but Yeoh is the latest celebrity to embrace the new blond hair-color trend after Kendall Jenner also sported the look last month.

For the premiere, Yeoh wore a Balenciaga dress, which paired nicely with her voluminous wavy cut. Yeoh’s hair was styled by celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora using all Wella products. “We decided on this more exaggerated look because of the campiness that Wicked is,” Campora tells PS in a press release. “We kept it short, modern and voluminous.” Keep scrolling for a full breakdown of her look.

Renato Campora is a celebrity hairstylist known for working with stars such as Angelina Jolie, Selena Gomez, and Michelle Yeoh.

To get the style, Campora started out by washing Yeoh’s hair with the Wella Professionals Ultimate Repair Shampoo ($35) and the Wella Ultimate Repair Conditioner ($35). From there, Campora prepped her hair using the Wella Professionals Ultimate Repair Miracle Hair Rescue ($21, originally $35) on Yeoh’s mid-lengths to ends, which he recommends for anyone whose hair is color-treated. Then, to protect from heat and eliminate frizz, Campora used a walnut-sized amount of the Wella Professionals Eimi Flowing Form Anti Frizz Hair Balm ($12, originally $21).

Once the hair was prepped, Campora used a small round brush to blow dry small sections of hair in an upward motion, which he pin-curled to add volume. Once Yeoh’s entire head was pinned, he brushed each curl out and added a finishing spray before parting her hair on the side, which Compora says enhances the cheekbones and elongates the neck. We don’t know what inspired this major change for Yeoh, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it had something to do with her platinum-blond costar, Ariana Grande, who dyed her hair for the role of Glinda back in 2022.
