Issa Rae isn’t slowing down anytime soon. After Rae’s HBO hit “Insecure” ended with its fifth and final season back in 2021, fans of the show (and its creator) were left wondering where they’d get their next dose of the actress and writer’s hilariously unique and self-embracing comedy style. Fortunately, Rae has managed to calm their fears with a slew of new projects that translate her talents from the small screen to the silver screen, behind the camera, and beyond.
Her latest production endeavors include the HBO series “Rap Sh!t” and the highly anticipated buddy comedy starring Sza and Keke Palmer, “One of Them Days,” which is due out in January 2025. Rae also took the world by storm last summer on a global promotional tour of “Barbie” — in which Rae played the president of Barbieland (because, of course) — and in collaboration with Tubi, just launched ‘Stubios,’ a new pipeline program that’s designed to help aspiring filmmakers get their projects funded and in front of audiences.
In the midst of her busy work schedule, Rae notes that she relies on platforms like Shipt to ensure she’s well-stocked with all of her favorite product essentials — whether she’s taking meetings in the office or drafting scripts at home. The same-day delivery service works pretty much anywhere, giving users (like Rae) the freedom to skip visiting the grocery store and dedicate more time to doing what they love.
“I’ve been a user of Shipt in desperate times — like whenever I just don’t have time to get some essentials or because I’m overscheduled,” Rae tells PS. “I’ve been good about generally partitioning my time between personal matters and professional matters, but there are some times when you just forget things and that’s when Shipt is convenient.”
We had the chance to chat with Rae about some of the must-have products that power her through her busy lifestyle — and inevitably end up in her Shipt shopping cart. From a nourishing SPF to a highly relatable nighttime essential that’s just $5, keep reading to shop Rae’s favorite products.
