The non-profit Feeding America thanked Swift for joining “the movement to end hunger and helping communities in need”

Taylor Swift has donated $5 million in relief efforts for communities impacted by Hurricane Helene, which devastated parts of the southeastern United States, and to help with recovery as Hurricane Milton approaches.

The non-profit organization Feeding America announced her donation on social media Wednesday, sharing a statement from CEO Babineaux-Fontenot.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million donation to Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief efforts,” Babineaux-Fontenot wrote. “This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms. Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need.”

Swift has previously made donations for charitable causes. In March 2020, the longtime Nashville resident donated $1 million to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund after Nashville and other areas of the middle of the state were struck by deadly storms. And in February, following the tragic death of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed in a mass shooting at a Kansas City Chiefs’ victory parade, Swift donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe page for the Lopez-Galvan family.

Other leaders in the music community have also made significant contributions following Hurricane Helene. Earlier this week, Dolly Parton made an appearance during a press conference addressing the damage caused by Hurricane Helene and announced her plan to donate $1 million to relief funds helping those impacted by Helene.

Metallica also shared that their All Within My Hands Foundation had donated $50,000 each to the World Central Kitchen and Team Rubicon to join efforts to aid residents following Helene.
